Kayla Price, Principal

Principal Bio

Kayla Price joined Watertown Middle School in 2014 as assistant principal after several years of being a classroom teacher.  In 2017 she was named principal of Watertown Middle School.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership at Trevecca Nazarene University).

As principal of Watertown Middle School, her primary responsibilities are hiring, coaching, evaluating, and retaining highly qualified staff; developing and implementing the master schedule; compiling and presenting student achievement data; maintaining effective school discipline; and overseeing the school budget.

 

Shannon Carney, Assistant Principal

Assistant Principal Bio

Shannon Carney graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education with an emphasis in English.  She received her Master of Education in Instructional Leadership from Bethel University.

She began her teaching career at Waverly Central High School in 1996 and moved to Wilson County in the summer of 1997.  She began teaching at Friendship Christian School in 1997 and remained there until 2002 when she began teaching at Wilson Central High School where she taught English for seventeen years. In 2019, she became a part of the Wilson County School’s Principal Pipeline program. She became the assistant principal at Watertown Middle School in 2020.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren.
